New Grass Varieties
The outstanding grass mixture range is again improved by the inclusion of top new varieties where appropriate. Particularly successful in 2008 were the grass seed solutions found in the "Specialist Long Term Mixtures" section, now featuring the new festulolium variety "LOFA".
 
Intake and Persistence
Oliver's mixture design is influenced by our unique grazing and persistency trials. Intake is one of the main limitations on the performance of livestock. Varieties with high palatability are aiding intake and making grazing management easier. Combine this with high "D" value, higher sugar levels, greater persistence and you will see that Oliver's swards are unbeaten for maximum output.
   

Organic Grass Seed
Oliver Seeds are very proactive on the organic grass front and are pleased to be able to offer ORGANIC alternatives to OUR TOTAL RANGE of grass seed mixtures.

We are also able to formulate specific mixtures to meet individual requirement as necessary. The minimum amount of ORGANIC grass seed in a mix has been set at 65% for 2010.
   

Wholecrop and Protein Crops
Sales of peas and wholecrop mixtures have risen dramatically in recent years. Oliver Seeds  trials provide our customers with best advice on what to use in the future to ensure forage requirements are met and undersown leys given the best start in life. Contact us for full details.  
 

 

Maize

Oliver Seeds offer a complete portfolio of maize varieties for 2010, suitable for any and every location and use throughout the UK.

Our extensive screeing and trialling system tests material from six different breeders to ensure that we can offer you the very best varieties available.

Key varieties for 2010 include ES REGAIN in the early maturing group and KADENZ and NK JASMIC in the main crop group.

Catch Crops
WINFRED continues to attract tremendous attention due to superb all round feeding qualities. A comprehensive range of top quality catch crops are outlined in this section. RAP-ITA provided invaluable fresh matter in recent years. The Fodder Beet varieties TROYA and ALPES also performed exceptionally well.
